Yellow Roses are symbolic for caring, warmth and kindness.

What do we do?

In a therapeutic relationship, we will explore the issues and experiences that are occurring for you. Your experience is unique to you- your thoughts, emotions and behaviours can be explored in a safe, non-judgemental space- with respect and empathy seeking to understand, accept, manage or challenge things in a way that is appropriate for you. Often, our emotions need to be expressed, felt and acknowledged in a world where we don’t  often have space/time to consider them and there are many models, theories and techniques that may be helpful in supporting you.

We can work together

You are the expert on you, and are uniquely you. Yellow Rose counselling will use a variety of approaches in a tailored way to support, facilitate and empower you. To support you, during counselling, I have 19 years’ experience gained in varied contexts : as a counsellor, Senior Lecturer, Supervisor and from practice roles in residential care, outreach roles and working within various social care capacities. My experiences have involved specialising in counselling theory, practice and application alongside considering ethics .

I have experience working with/offering counselling to various client groups : adults, children, young people and families plus practitioners and have supervised trainee counsellors and experienced counsellors within varied contexts. I continue to learn and develop within the counselling arena and am passionate about how counselling can be beneficial. My own personal development is integral to this and is a continual part of my approach.

"We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know."
- Carl Rogers
